Status: Recommended Software Update (updates functionality for SignTag functionality originally incouded in Q100002. Also updates and corrects all software documentation).

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are installing this update over the Gold Release of PRONTO™ Server, rather than Service Release 1, you MUST apply the Q100001, Q100002, and Q100004 updates for PRONTO Server v2.5 Gold before applying this update.

This Q100006 update is intended to update both Gold Release version of AlphaTrust PRONTO Server v2.5 dated 10/21/2002, and PRONTO Server v2.5 Service Release 1 (SR1) dated 12/16/2002.

Q100006 adds functionality to the SIGNTAG feature added in Q100002. You may now specify specific text to be displayed in the SIGNTAG field. Valid values are now:

• "yes" - add a signature tag that displays "SIGN HERE" next to 'live' and 'mouse' types.
• "no" - display nothing.
• TEXT VALUE - display the specified TEXT value instead of "SIGN HERE". (Up to 32 characters).

Q100006 also corrects documentation errors. All three technical documents in the \Docs\ directory have been updated.

The following are step by step instructions for installing Q100006 over the Gold Release version or SR1 version of PRONTO Server v2.5:

NOTE: These instructions assume that your Pronto Server was installed on the local C: drive of your Windows 2000 Server in "C:\AlphaTrust\". If you installed to a different location, changes these instructions accordingly.

1. Stop the World Wide Web Service and IIS Admin Service.
2. Shut down the ProntoOpen and ProntoServer25 COM+ applications using the Component Services console.
3. Run the "Q100006.exe" program and specify the root of the drive where Pronto Server was installed (i.e. "c:\"). This should cause the new files to over-write the existing files. Make sure there are no errors on the un-zipping of these files. There should be no file conflicts if all the steps above were followed.
4. Look in the "\AlphaTrust\Pronto\Programs\" directory. The file "Update-Q100006.txt" should be present. Updated documents will also be in the \Docs\ directory, the \Setup\Win2000\ directory and the \Setup\Updates\ directory.
5. Start SQL Server Enterprise Manager and connect to the PRONTO Database. Right-click on the "Signature" table and click "Design Table". Scroll down to the "SignTag" field and change the field length from 10 to 32. Save the changes and exit Enterprise Manager.
6. Restart the services stopped in step 1 above.
